The GRL Germany are continuing to rock events out of Open Design City, following on from their activities at the Cognitive Cities Conference.
As a part of the Street Lab meets Berlin festival, you can join in the following activities. They are busy as ever though with even more happening over the course of the event, so follow the link for details.
In the opening night of the festival GRL Germany will present their new laser tagging tool blitzTag at the grounds of Prinzessinnengarten within a stone throw away from Open Design City.
Like earlier versions of laser tagging apps such as LaserTag, blitzTag is tracking a laser point across the face of a building and generating graphics based on the laser's position which then get projected back onto the building with a high power projector.
Fri, 11th of March, 10 pm - midnight
Venue: Prinzessinnengarten / Moritzplatz
At Saturday we will open ODC for visitors from noon. At that time, people can try-out bombIR, or ask any questions about the evening before (blitzTag).
1:00-1:45 pm GRL Germany will give a talk which will be an introduction to GRL background and philosophy, with a behind-the-scenes look at some of our open-source tools, such as blitzTag and bombIR.
This will be followed by an LED-Throwie workshop by Sid (Shine in Decay) at 2 pm. We are going to make a whole lot of LED's which will be installed the same evening in cooperation with another part of the festival.
A Throwie consists of a lithium battery, a 10mm diffused LED and a rare-earth magnet taped together.
